Love or Respect?

Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone :)

The tummy is growing bigger each day and Alhamdulillah I am now in my 5th months.

Yesterday me and the husband was watching The Bachelor Japan Edition. Basically the programe was about a bunch of ladies who compete among each other to win one man's love. Yeah that guy might be rich and famous. lol. And that dude will date all the ladies to figure out if he is compatible with her wtf I feel like this programe is tacky.

So I popped a question to my husband:

"If you were about to choose, would you choose someone who loves you; or would you choose someone who respects you?"

The husband took some time to think. And while he was making descision, I went to the dressing room and prepare his work attire.

You know what was his answer?

He said would pick someone who loves him.

There is no wrong or right answer as the question was about personal choice. But as for me, I would pick someone who respect me.

Why?

We easily confused with affection and respect. We thought those two are the same. Yea if you love me you would do this if you love me you wouldn't do this yadda yadda.

Affection is a feeling towards someone you really fond of. Some would do crazy things for love, but still end up being dumped or cheated. Why?

Well because there is no respect between them.

Love and just love alone is not enough. In fact, it will go nowhere. Like, I love you but I'm going out with another guy behind your back. Yes I love you but I am eyeing someone else too. Of course I love you but I would still hurt your feelings.

Why we cheat?

Because there is no respect to our partner, we didn't even respect the bond that we have. Thus explains why I'd choose someone who respect me as the answer.

I do believe that mutual respect and consistency in a relationship could sparks love, strengthen the affection and yeah, brings sense of security and joy into a couple's life.

So I'll stop being Dr Love here. Bye.
